Building Valuation
Most standard insurance policies include a “Co-insurance Clause” that requires buildings to be insured to at least 90% percent of their replacement value. If not, a penalty applies. For example, if a one million dollar building is insured for only five hundred thousand dollars (50 percent), and a one hundred thousand dollar repair is needed, the insurer may only pay fifty thousand dollars.
Due to rising construction costs, your current coverage might fall below the 90% threshold without you realizing. Church & Charity Protection Plus offers an optional “Agreed Value Clause” that eliminates Co-insurance penalties. To qualify, complete and return the Statement of Values and Building Update Form. If your insured value matches the replacement value, there is no added premium.
If not, coverage and premiums will be adjusted and the 90% Co-insurance will be replaced with Agreed Value protection. To help you determine your building’s value, we offer a no-cost valuation and all you need to do is complete the Statement of Values/Building Update Form (both sides) and check the “no-cost building valuation” box.
Co-Insurance Vs Agreed Value
Agreed Value
The Agreed Value Clause removes the Co-Insurance penalty by locking in your building’s replacement value while protecting you from underinsurance

Facilities Rentals
Renting your facilities to outside user groups can be a great way to support the community and generate additional income. However, without proper agreements and liability insurance in place, it can expose your organization to serious legal and financial risks, so it’s essential to have clear guidelines and protections.
Social Media for Christian Ministry
Social media is a powerful tool for spreading the gospel and building relationships, but it also requires thoughtful policies to protect privacy, uphold values, and avoid legal risk. As Christian leaders, it is essential to communicate online with wisdom and care, ensuring our digital presence reflects both our mission and our responsibility.
Refugee Sponsorship
Refugee sponsorship through churches and charities is a powerful way to serve vulnerable people and support their resettlement in Canada. While life changing this work comes with legal and insurance responsibilities, so it is essential to have proper policies, volunteer screening, and coverage in place.
Transportation Risks

Windshield & Visibility
Ensure the windshield is clear, undamaged and all mirrors are functional. Limited visibility or cracked glass increases the chance of collisions especially in larger vehicles.
Driver Qualifications
Only experienced licensed drivers with clean records should operate ministry vehicles. Inexperienced drivers and improper licenses are a major cause of accidents and insurance denials
Passenger Safety
Seatbelts must be in working order and passengers should remain seated during travel. Improper seating or overcrowding increases risk of injury in sudden stops or collisions.
Tires & Maintenance
Regularly inspect tires for tread wear and inflation. Tire blowouts are a leading cause of rollovers especially in 15-passenger vans and older vehicles.
Rear Storage & Overload
Avoid overloading with luggage or gear especially in the rear. Excessive weight can affect handling and increase the risk of tip-overs or brake failure.
